Abstract
In this study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between perinatal anxiety, obsessivecompulsive symptoms and maternal attachment in women who gave birth during the Covid-19 period. Structural equation and regression model was used to determine the relationships between the scales in the study, in which 100 participants who had a one-month-old baby who gave birth during the epidemic period in Izmir Health Sciences University Tepecik Training and Research Hospital, Ahmet Ersan Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic in Konak district of Izmir participated. In line with the literature information and the findings obtained in the study, it was concluded that obsessive-compulsive symptoms and perinatal anxiety have a decisive role on maternal attachment. It was found that perinatal anxiety predicted maternal attachment negatively and statistically significantly, while obsessive-compulsive symptoms did not predict maternal attachment statistically. The absence of such a study in the literature is thought to be a guide for treatment plans to be drawn up on the psychological effects of the epidemic.
