The Impact of Technological Device Usage on the Posture of Physiotherapy Program Students

Abstract

Today, due to the increasing use of technology, the lack of control of the time spent by individuals on technological devices and the internet can cause postural disorders. The aim of this study; The aim of this program is to examine the mobile technology and computer usage habits of the students studying in the physiotherapy program and to evaluate their postures. In the study, which was applied on a total of 85 students, the New York Posture Analysis (NYPA) test was applied face-to-face by a physiotherapist in the evaluation of the postures of individuals. Then, SPSS program was used to determine the differences between the groups. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the posture status of the participants was at different levels, and a significant difference was obtained in favor of the female participants according to the posture scores. It can be said that the results found are related to family structure and education, social environment and social media addiction. It is thought that posture problems caused by the use of technological devices in young people will cause serious health problems in later ages.
