Treatment of Generalized Anxiety Disorder with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Approach: Case Report

Abstract
Generalized anxiety disorder is a very common psychiatric disorder. Medication and cognitive behavioral therapies are used in its treatment. In this case study, cognitive behavioral therapy techniques were used in the therapy process of a 21-year-old client with generalized anxiety disorder. The client's overthinking, insomnia, and her recent fear that he would forget and disgraced while teaching was made presentation. Exposure and breathing exercise techniques were used during the therapy process, and the process continued with homework. Beck Anxiety Scale and Thematic Perception Test were used. During the therapy process, which lasted 7 sessions, it was aimed to reduce the client's anxiety to the minimum level possible.
