Investigation of The Relationship Between Adults of Cheating Tendency and Psychological Trends in Early Maladaptive Schemes and Close Relations

Abstract
Deception is an important problem in today's relationships. There are studies showing the emergence of deception in relationships for different reasons. The common point of these studies is that if there is deception in the relationship, the relationship dynamics are exchanged. In this study; The relationship between adult deception tendency and early maladaptive schemas and psychological dispositions in close relationships was investigated. The sample of the study consists of 400 individuals who participated voluntarily from the province of İstanbul. In the study, Young Schema Scale, Deception Tendency Scale, Multidimensional Relationship Scale (MCCI), Demographic Information Form were used. As relationship satisfaction, fear of relationship, impression of relationship and external relationship control scores increase, infidelity scale scores increase. As the self-confidence in the relationship, assertiveness in the relationship, and internal relationship control scores increase, the infidelity scale scores decrease. When the studies are examined, there is an inverse relationship between the tendency to cheat and the sub-dimensions of the multi-relationship scale, especially the factors such as relationship satisfaction, fear of relationship, relationship anxiety, while self-confidence in a healthy relationship, assertiveness in the relationship, and internal relationship control factors.
