Attitudes of Students Receiving Health Education Towards Brain Drain

Abstract
This research was conducted to determine the attitudes and approaches of students studying in the field of health towards brain drain. The population of the study consists of a total of 2480 students studying at the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry and Faculty of Health Sciences at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa Universty. A sample of 559 students participated in the study between October 22, 2023 and November 22,2023, using a stratified sampling method. The face-to-face survey method was employed in the research. The results of the study indicate that the majority of participants want to work abroad after graduation. The most prioritized reason for wanting to work abroad include a higher standard of living and higher income, in addition to the working conditions in Türkiye. The students most interested in working abroad are first-year students. The main barriers to working abroad were cited as the expenses and the difficulty of learning a foreign language. Improving the working conditions of healthcare workers, preventing incidents of violence in healthcare, providing adequate salaries and creating career opportunities will reduce this migration and the thought of migration.
