Investigation of E-Library Publications on AFAD's Website

Abstract

With the disasters experienced in recent years, it has once again become clear that it is important to educate and raise awareness of the society about disasters. In this regard, it is seen that the posters, brochures, infographics, articles and books published by AFAD to inform, educate and raise awareness are important tools. The aim of this study is to analyze the e-library publications on AFAD's website. Document analysis design, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study. In the data collection process, the e-library on AFAD's official website was utilized. Posters, brochures, infographics, articles and books in the e-library were analyzed. The data obtained were analyzed using document analysis method. As a result of the analysis, a total of 120 contents were identified in AFAD's e-library. It was determined that 10 of these contents were posters, 48 were brochures, 21 were infographics, 39 were books and 2 were articles. When the contents were analyzed, it was determined that publications related to disaster education and earthquake were predominant. In addition, when the publications were analyzed in terms of disaster education, it was determined that there were more studies on pre-disaster education.
