SWOT Analysis of Tavşanlı's Thermal Tourism Potential

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the thermal tourism potential of Tavşanlı district. For this purpose, the thermal tourism potential of Tavşanlı has been revealed by using the SWOT analysis method. The present study is also important in terms of revealing the thermal tourism potential of Tavşanlı district by using the SWOT analysis method. In order to make a SWOT analysis, the literature was examined in detail and detailed information about Göbel Thermal Springs, operated by the municipality in Tavşanlı, was obtained by interviewing the municipality officials face to face. In the light of the information obtained, SWOT analysis was carried out. As a result of the SWOT analysis, the implementation of an affordable price policy, the inclusion of the province of Kütahya, to which Tavşanlı is affiliated, in the Thermal Tourism Master Plan, etc. strengths; The fact that Tavşanlı is not on the intercity highway route, the people have an introverted social structure, etc. weaknesses; The fact that Tavşanlı is a developed district, the investments being made by the Municipality around the facility, etc. opportunities; The existence of many thermal enterprises throughout the province, the preference of qualified personnel for different tourism destinations, etc. threats have been detected.
