Effect of Burnout Syndrome on Job Satisfaction in Family Business: Example of Kütahya Tile-Ceramic Industry

Abstract
The physical and mental health of the employees in the enterprises is of great importance for the enterprise to continue its activities without being harmed and many researches are carried out for this purpose. The aim of this research is to investigate the effects of burnout on job satisfaction in family businesses. In the research, a questionnaire consisting of thirty-five questions that of Maslach Burnout Scale, personal information form and Job Satisfaction Scale was answered by 200 family business workers. The answers were analyzed and interpreted with the SPSS 22.0 program. After the analysis, it was concluded that burnout and job satisfaction had a negative and significant effect. This means that an increase in the level of burnout will cause a decrease in the level of job satisfaction. In other words, as the level of burnout decreases, the level of job satisfaction will increase. In addition, emotional exhaustion and depersenalization, which are subdimensions of burnout, negatively affect job satisfaction; It was concluded that the personal achievement dimension has a positive effect on job satisfaction.
