Abstract

The etiology of fibromyalgia syndrome, which is a polysymptomatic pain disorder, is still unknown and it is a syndrome that reduces the functionality and quality of life of diagnosed people. While studies show that the loss of a parent, which is a traumatic experience, can cause psychological problems in people, the psychologically based explanations of fibromyalgia syndrome indicate that this problem may occur in people who have experienced more trauma. It is known that both verbal and written emotional reactions have an important place in emotion regulation, and that individuals with fibromyalgia syndrome feel more comfortable and show fewer symptoms as they express their emotions.
