Attitude Levels of 11th Grade Religious (Imam Hatip) High School Students Towards Philosophy Course

Abstract

In this research, it has aimed to determine the attitudes of the 11th grade students of Imam Hatip high school towards philosophy course. In the study, as a research method, scanning model was used. The universe of the study constituted a total of 845 11th grade students. The sample of the study consisted of 642 students. The results are bellows: 1- 11th grade Imam Hatip students have moderate attitude levels towards philosophy course. 2- Attitude levels of the 11th grade students towards the philosophy course were found to be low in the lower dimensions of apathy and love, moderate in the lower dimension of usefulness, and high in the lower dimensions of the role of the teacher. 3- Females attitudes towards philosophy are higher than male. 4- There is no significant difference between attitude towards philosophy and the level of education of parents, profession of parents, living province of the family and living place of the student. 5- Attitude level towards philosophy course varies according to frequency of reading books. 6- Attitude level towards philosophy course differs according to perceived economic level variability.
