A Research on Green Computing Beliefs and Attitudes of Employees in Accommodation Industry

Abstract
With the increase in the effects of information and communication technologies on the natural environment, which is one of the most important components of the tourism sector, green computing has started to gain more importance. However, in the relevant literature, the researches in which tourism, accommodation businesses and green computing are evaluated together have remained quantitatively limited. In line with this information in the paper, it was aimed to determine the effects of individual, social and organizational factors on green computing beliefs and attitudes in the sample of employees in accommodation businesses in Kayseri, Turkey. Quantitative research method was adopted in the paper data were collected from 175 participants by using the survey method and analyzes were carried out. It has been determined that green computing knowledge, green management culture and social impact are positively related to the tendency towards green computing practices with the role of mediating factors such as green computing belief and attitude. It has been determined that the individual, social and organizational situations of the employees are related to their intentions towards green computing and the formation of the reaction that predisposes these intentions to turn into behavior.
