Investigation of The Effect of Motivation Tools on Business Performance in The Context of Total Quality and Strategic Quality Management Practices: A Research in The Pharmaceutical Industry

Abstract

This research was carried out to determine whether motivation tools have an effect on the performance of company in the context of total quality and strategic quality management practices in company in the pharmaceutical industry. During the research, it was investigated whether there was a significant difference in terms of the levels of the variables and their sub-dimensions, and the variables of gender, age, marital status, education level and work experience in the institution they work for. Within the scope of the research, data were obtained by face-to-face and online survey method, and "Motivational Tools Scale" and "Performance Scale" were used within the scope of the survey study. When the data were examined, it was seen that the general and internal motivations of the personnel working in the pharmaceutical industry showed a statistically significant difference according to the variables of gender, age and education, and that the extrinsic motivation of the personnel working in the pharmaceutical industry showed a statistically significant difference according to the age and education variables. It is seen that the internal performance of the enterprise differs statistically only according to the education variable, the customer performance of the enterprise shows a statistically significant difference according to the education and the work experience of the employees in the institution was found to differ significantly. As a result of the research, it has been seen that the general motivation of the employees does not have a significant effect on the general business performance, but the internal motivation of the employees, which is one of the motivation dimensions, has a positive and significant effect on the financial performance and customer performance, which is one of the motivation dimensions, and does not have a significant effect on the internal performance, innovation and learning performance.
