A Research on Restaurant Businesses Using QR Code Menu: The Case of Amasya

Abstract

Recently, restaurant businesses have moved away from the use of classical menus and started to use QR code menu, in other words virtual menu. Especially due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many restaurant businesses have started to use QR code menus for reasons such as reducing contact and being hygienic. With this study, it is aimed to determine the advantages and disadvantages of using QR code menus for businesses by obtaining data from restaurant businesses operating in Amasya and using QR code menus, and what the feedback from customers is. As a result of the research, the use of the QR code menu; It has advantages such as being hygienic, reducing contact, saving time, increasing customer satisfaction, reducing costs, being fast, rich in visuals, product variety, facilitating menu changes and updates, but the advanced age group cannot adapt to technology, using phones which do not have QR code reading feature and due to their habits customers do not want to use a QR code menu are disadvantages.
