Examination of the Covid-19 Fear Levels of Football Referees

Abstract
The aim of this study is to examine the Covid-19 fear levels of active football referees. The universe of the research consists of active football referees working in Turkish leagues. The sample of the study consists of 160 people who voluntarily participated in the online survey sent via e-mail. In the study, "demographic information form" as a data collection tool and to determine the Covid 19 fear levels of the participants, Ladikli et al. (2020) used the "Covid 19 Fear Scale", whose reliability and validity studies were conducted in Turkish. Frequency analysis, percentage analysis, t test, Anova analysis were used to analyze the data. As a result of the analyzes carried out; Statistically significant differences were found between the Covid 19 fear scale mean score according to the variables of having Covid 19, being vaccinated against Covid 19, and being caught in the immediate environment (p<0.05). It has been determined that the fear levels of those who have had Covid 19, those who have had the Covid 19 vaccine and those who have caught Covid 19 in their immediate surroundings are higher. No statistically significant differences were found between the mean score of the covid-19 fear scale according to the variables of gender, marital status, occupation, place of residence, training style, following the covid-19 news on social media (p>0.05).
