Abstract

This is a grammatical analysis of the grammatical toponymy on the 2088 geography in the 1/25000 scale Akhisar map. In this study, Akhisar Zeynelzâde Public Library, Manisa Public Library, Turkish Historical Society, Afyonkarahisar Gedik Ahmet Pasha Public Library and Afyon Kocatepe University libraries were used. The grammatical structure of their geographies is derived from Korkmaz (2009) in the derived geographies section and Karahan (2013) in the combined geographies section. Şahin (2007) was also consulted in this section. Geographical place names in the study are classified under 3 main headings as simple place names, derived place names and combined place names. Their place in the study is largely unified. It is observed that the united structures follow the simple places, whereas the derived yerades are the least seen structures compared to the others. The unified locale is divided into two subgroups as the locale in the noun clause and the noun clause. Among these titles, their place in the noun clause is more than their adjective clause. The names in the adjective clause have a wide place in this section. Their names in the structure of noun phrases are also discussed in two sub-headings, namely, their names in specified and unspecified noun phrases. In the study, it is seen that the names in the asymptomatic noun phrases are predominantly in the majority, whereas there are some in the specified noun phrases.
