Examining The AAitudes of Tourism Students Toward Accounting Courses

Abstract

The increasing competition, cost management requirements, and sustainability concerns in the
tourism sector have made accounting knowledge a strategic competency for students receiving
tourism education. The purpose of this study is to determine the aIitudes of tourism faculty
students who have taken accounting courses toward accounting. A questionnaire was employed as the data collection instrument in the study. The survey was administered to 96 students enrolled in the Faculty of Tourism at Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University who had taken an accounting course. The findings revealed that the students' overall aIitudes toward the accounting course were at a moderate level. When the aIitude dimensions were examined, the cognitive dimension had the highest mean score, whereas the behavioral dimension had the lowest mean score.
