Title: Reflections of Environmental Education and Awareness in The Aviation Sector

Abstract

Environmental education and awareness are one of the most important issues especially for higher education students. For this reason, the research was conducted to determine the environmental education and awareness of the students studying in the aviation department. The research was carried out on Cappadocia University students and tested with the awareness scale for environmental problems. The research was conducted on a total of 438 students. According to the results of the analyses obtained, it was determined that the awareness levels of the students towards environmental problems differed according to whether they had been in the sector before or not. However, socio-economic levels of students are recognized as an important factor in developing attitudes towards the environment. For this reason, secondly, ANOVA test was applied within the framework of the income of the student families. Firstly, incomes were classified in certain ratios and then subjected to post hoc test. As a result of the ANOVA test, it was determined that there was a difference between the lowest level and the highest level in the categorized income levels. These results confirm the information in the literature.
