Abstract

Women in many societies around the world are exposed to various tyrannies such as harassment, violence, and underage marriages. In recent years, various pioneering studies have been carried out by international organizations regarding the importance of women in the vulnerable segment in terms of sustainable development. It is mentioned that women should be equal to men and the impact and importance of supporting women's employment and reducing women's unemployment. In Turkey, efforts are being made to prevent women's vulnerability through the Constitution and laws, and economic and social support for women is increasing through deterrent sanctions. However, while the female employment rate is over 50% in most countries, this rate is 48.2% in Greece, 49.4% in Italy, 46.2% in Mexico and 31.7% in Turkey. Not including women, who constitute half of the population, in the workforce will lead to inefficient use of human capital and may be regressive in terms of economically and socially sustainable development. In order to increase the level of social sustainable development, the living conditions of societies need to be improved. In this regard, it seems that it will be effective to increase studies on the impact and importance of women's employment, both at national and international levels.
