Abstract

The study aims to examine publications on the use of strategic management tools in the health sector by content analysis method. The scanning process was carried out between 06-13 November 2023, and a total of 15 publications, 7 articles, and 8 theses, were accessed. It was revealed that most publications were in the article type, in the Turkish language, in the last five years, and in the quantitative method. The sample group from which the most data is collected in all publication types is health managers. The first three cities where the most research was conducted are Istanbul, Ankara, and Samsun, respectively. The most used strategic management tools in the health sector are "total quality management", "mission and vision statements", "social media tools and the internet", "outsourcing", "balanced scorecard", "customer relationship management", "benchmarking", “change engineering” and “SWOT analysis”. It may be recommended to increase the knowledge and awareness levels of all hospital personnel, especially health managers, about strategic management practices and strategic management tools used specifically for this purpose.
