Main Article Content
Abstract
It is important for countries to create environments where young people, who are the guarantee of the future, can express themselves and voice their opinions and thoughts, develop policies according to the results, and look to the future with confidence. The study aims to understand university students and identify their socioeconomic concerns and expectations. The sample of the study consists of students from Dicle University and young people selected by random sampling method. Data were analyzed with the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) program. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to determine the distribution of young people's opinions according to independent variables. Multiple comparisons were made with Tukey test and Mann-Whitney U test to detect significant differences. Chi-square test (χ²) was used to determine the dependency relationships between factors. When the findings are evaluated, it is seen that there is a significant difference between the students studying in the field of social sciences and the students studying in other fields in terms of the factors affecting happiness, the problems faced by young people and the values that shape life.
