Evaluation of The Attitude Against Technology in Health Workers: Example of a Private Chain Hospital

Abstract

The importance of using technology to provide effective, quality and efficient service in the health sector, as in every sector, is increasing day by day. This study was conducted to determine the attitudes of healthcare workers towards technology. The study was conducted with the participation of 288 volunteer healthcare workers in 6 hospitals of a chain hospital group in the Istanbul region of the healthcare sector in Turkey. The data of the study were collected using an introductory information form and the Attitude Towards Technology Scale. SPSS 22.0 Program was used to analyze the data. Categorical variables are described with frequencies and percentages. The reliability of the scales was tested with the Cronbach Alpha method. Cronbach Alpha coefficient was found to be 0.74. For demographic variables, ANOVA and t-Test, which are difference tests, were used. While there was a statistically significant difference between the demographic variables, marital status, business life experience and title, and the sub-dimensions of the attitude towards technology scale; No significant difference was found in terms of gender, age group, education level and staff level. As a result, it was determined in the study that healthcare professionals have a positive attitude towards technology.
