Abstract

Although the Eastern Anatolia Region has provided important archaeological data in recent years, most areas have not been fully investigated or studies have been limited. The most important ones are due to the fact that the prehistoric periods of the region were not investigated and the region was not discussed in general terms. In this context, the provinces of Muş and Bitlis, which are discussed in this study, contribute to the aforementioned issues and answer some questions. Surveys carried out especially in the areas covered by these two provinces show that there was no Neolithic Age in the region, that the Chalcolithic Age was very weak and that there were variations in the Early Bronze Age. When both provinces are compared both within themselves and with the surrounding regions, it is understood that both provinces fill very important gaps for the archeology and history of the Eastern Anatolia Region and answer some questions. In general, in this study, the cultural situation of the two provinces mentioned in the Early and Middle Holocene periods (Proto-Neolithic, Neolithic, Chalcolithic and Early Bronze Ages) and the factors affecting it were discussed and the missing gaps of the region were tried to be filled.
