Main Article Content
Abstract
The types of locus of control that individuals working in organizations have are effective in shaping the relationships they have established for social learning. One of the most important effects of this social learning relationship on individuals is procrastination at work. The main purpose of this research is to determine whether there is a significant difference between the types of locus of control and socio-demographic characteristics of the employees and their procrastination behaviors in the workplace. For this purpose, data were collected from 236 employees working in two food production facilities operating in Mersin. The data collected as a result of the questionnaires were subjected to various analyzes, primarily factor analysis, in the SPSS program. According to the research findings, a relationship was determined between the type of locus of control that individuals have and procrastination at work. It has been observed that individuals with an external locus of control are more inclined to exhibit procrastination behavior in the workplace. In addition, significant differences were determined in terms of sociodemographic characteristics such as age, gender, marital status, educational status, and professional experience.
