Abstract
Professional tourist guides; It is under a great responsibility to promote our country to tourists in the best way possible. However, the number of guides exposed to work accidents and occupational diseases due to long working hours, violation of official or weekend holidays, and informality is quite high. guides; As they are affected physically and psychologically due to occupational health and safety problems, their quality-of-life decreases. These problems may prevent the guides from being successful in their work and representing our country in the best possible way. Training guides on OHS and workplaces taking the necessary precautions in this regard can help guides to be more successful in their work. For this reason, in the study, the problems of tourist guides related to occupational risks are discussed, their responsibilities related to the subject are mentioned and solution suggestions are presented. In addition, it is aimed to raise awareness by drawing attention to the occupational risks of tourist guides and to reveal the necessity of raising awareness on OHS. By using the qualitative research method in the literature review; National and international studies on OHS problems, professional difficulties and obligations related to the tourist guiding profession have been examined.
