Abstract

This research aims to determine the views of preschool teachers about values education in preschool education. The research team of the study consists of 20 preschool teachers working in the preschool educational institutions of the Ministry of National Education in the central district of Batman province in the 2022-2023 academic year and voluntarily agreed to participate in the study. The data in the study were collected using an interview form prepared by the researchers. The analysis of the data obtained during the interviews was carried out using the methodology of content analysis. At the end of the study, it was determined that teachers emphasized values such as respect, tolerance, empathy, love, honesty, solidarity, cooperation and patriotism as values that should be given in preschool education. On the other hand, it has been determined that most of the teachers prefer activities such as storytelling, drama, games and music in values education and that the values taught at school are not supported in the family, they cannot think abstractly because they are in the concrete-operational period, they have difficulties due to lack of material and language barrier.
