Amendments Made in the 1982 Constitution Until the Year 2010

Abstract
With the developing social events and the spread of anarchic environment, the Turkish Armed Forces took over the administration on 12 September 1980. It was resolutely shared with the public that the society needed to make a constitution in order to ensure social order and create a democratic environment. The Constitutional Commission was established within the Advisory Council and the head of the commission was Prof. Dr. Orhan Aldikaçti was brought. The text of the Constitution, which was prepared by the Constitutional Commission and passed through the examination of the National Security Council, as a result of the referendum held on 7 November 1982; 8.63% of the votes were “REJECT” and 91.37% of the votes were “ACCEPT” and it was accepted and entered into force on November 9, 1982. The 1982 Constitution chose to limit rights and freedoms as a reaction to the rights and freedoms introduced by the 1961 Constitution. In addition, in order to remove the blockages of the parliamentary regime; Inspired by the V. French Constitution, which is not in the parliamentary regime, the President has been given Presidential powers in the Semi-Presidential Regime. In our study, the changes made in the 1982 Constitution until 2010 and the new regulations introduced; We will examine it in terms of Constitutional Law and Political Science. We hope that our work will contribute to the practice and academic community.
