Investigation of Bolu's Sustainable Tourism Development According to the Attitudes of Local People

Abstract

The aim of this research is to examine the sustainable tourism development level of Bolu based on the attitudes of the local people. A questionnaire was used as a data collection tool in the research, and the data were obtained from the local people of Bolu. The data collected from the participants were first evaluated in terms of validity and reliability. Then, whether the dimensions of environmental sustainability, social costs, economic benefits, social participation and long-term planning, determined by factor analysis, differ according to the age, gender, income, marital status, education level and occupation of the participants, were examined by TTest and ANOVA test. As a result, in the research, it has been determined that some of the dimensions within the scope of the sustainable tourism development variable differ according to the age, gender, income, marital status, education level and occupation of the local people of Bolu. In this research, it is recommended to raise awareness of tourism stakeholders about the current effects of tourism and the possible effects that may arise according to future trends, and to make plans to be prepared for these developments.
