The Relationship Between Innovation Management Competencies and Organizational Commitment: A Study on Teachers

Abstract

Today, human resources and managers need to adapt to change by following the innovations in the field of science and technology. Institutions and organizations are expected to be open to innovations and support innovation throughout the organization in order for managers to connect qualified employees to them. In this context, it is thought that supporting innovative work environments in the organization will contribute to success by strengthening organizational commitment. In this context, it is thought that the creation of innovative working environments in the organization will contribute to success by strengthening organizational commitment. From this point of view, in this study, it is aimed to reveal the relationship between the opinions of teachers working in public schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education (MEB) about the innovation management competencies of their schools and their organizational commitment. For this purpose, data were collected from 390 teachers working in public schools through a questionnaire. According to the analysis, the innovation management competencies of the schools were evaluated at a moderate level. It has been determined that teachers' commitment to the organization is at the level of continuance commitment. The relationship between innovation management competencies and organizational commitment; It was concluded that there is a very low positive level between continuance commitment and the dimensions of project management, organizational culture and structure, innovation strategy and input management. It has been revealed that innovation management competencies affect organizational commitment subdimensions.
