Examination of Individuals Marriage Harmony in terms of Some Variables

Abstract

The aim of the study was to examine the marital adjustment of married individuals in terms of some variables. Relational survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used to achieve the determined research purpose. In line with the determined purpose, first of all, the marital adjustment levels of the participants were determined and then it was investigated whether there was a significant difference in terms of marital adjustment between demographic variables such as place of residence, education level, family income level. The study group of the research consists of 480 married individuals who live in different regions of Kyrgyzstan and have spent at least one year in their marriage. The Personal Information Form created by the researcher for the married individuals participating in the research, and the Renewed Couple Adjustment Scale, which was developed and adapted in Turkey, were used. Before the application, necessary permissions were obtained from the scale owners and then it was adapted to the Kyrgyz culture. One-way ANOVA analysis was applied for the analysis of the obtained data. As a result of the research, it was determined that the marital adjustment of married individuals did not differ statistically significantly according to the variables of place of residence, educational status and monthly family income. At the end of the study, necessary suggestions were made in line with the findings obtained.
