Nomophobia in Generation X, Y and Z: Qualitative Research

Abstract

With the development of technology, it is obvious that the way of life has changed. Nowadays, where technological products become a necessity; it brings with its negative conditions such as dependence on technology. One of these negative situations is nomophobia. The fear of being deprived of mobile phones in any way, the daily use of mobile phones of all ages using mobile phones and psychological tension can affect the user. In Çorlu district of Tekirdağ province, mobile phone usage purposes and nomophobia status were investigated by using in-depth interview method with mobile phone users in 3 different generations. All of the participants in 3 generations used mobile phones actively and all of them were nomophobic.
