A Research on Stakeholder Views on the Development of Tourism Activities in Hopa Destination

Abstract
It is an important issue for the development of the destination that all stakeholders directly or indirectly related to the subject participate in the activities in the destinations where tourism movements take place. The aim of this study is to determine the opinions of the stakeholders operating in Hopa, one of the coastal districts of Artvin province, about local tourism and to determine their contributions to the tourism industry. Qualitative research approach was adopted within the scope of the study. In this direction, interviews were conducted with 14 tourism sector stakeholders in Hopa district using semi-structured interview technique, and the obtained data were analyzed descriptively. As a result of the research, it has been determined that the officials of the enterprises, institutions and organizations that provide tourism-themed services or operate in the Hopa district are generally satisfied with the tourism activities in the district, and they are especially hopeful about the works of the local government for the development of tourism. In the research, suggestions for the development of tourism activities in Hopa district and increasing their benefits are also included.
