Abstract

Developments in new media technologies have developed the digital game industry, which is an important part of the digital world. Along with this development, movies independent of the game's origin could be produced with machinima, which opened doors to new sectors and brought a new tool to the filmmaking processes beyond playing and winning digital games. Such productions, which are in harmony with the artistic understanding of the postmodern period, carry the dimension of art to a different space. This study aims to draw attention to the productions produced with machinima and determine the relationship of the works produced with this method with postmodern art. The research sample consists of the TV series "Women's Reign-Kösem" broadcast on YouTube, which was produced with machinima in Turkey in 2016. As a result of the descriptive analysis, it was concluded that the series is suitable for the fragmental and eclectic structure of postmodern art, and it has the characteristics of postmodern art, such as collage and intertextuality.
