A Periodical Assessment of the Effects of Turkish Tourism Sector on Economic Growth

Abstract

Tourism is one of the most important sectors that develop rapidly and affect the economy in a positive way. In addition to macroeconomic effects such as economic growth in the countries, reduction of balance of payments deficits and employment opportunities, socio-cultural effects such as providing peace and peace environment between societies. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of the economic growth of the tourism sector in Turkey periodically. In this study, firstly the channels of influencing the economic sector of the tourism sector are emphasized and the place and importance of the Turkish tourism sector in the economy are evaluated. The positive effects of the tourism sector on certain macroeconomic variables have been determined by the review period of 2002-2016.
