The Role of Job Satisfaction in Problem Solving Skills of Employees: A Study on Food and Beverage Businesses in Hatay Province

Abstract
The aim of this study is to determine the role of job satisfaction in problem solving skills of food and beverage enterprises employees. Food and beverage businesses are businesses that are strategically important in terms of their income and employment-creating features in the tourism sector, operating within or independently of accommodation businesses based on labor-intensive production. Within the scope of the study, a face-to-face survey consisting of demographic information form, Minnesota job satisfaction scale and problem-solving scale was conducted with 303 service and kitchen employees working in food and beverage businesses in Hatay province. The data obtained from the research were subjected to statistical analysis with the help of a computer program. It has been observed that the employees of the food and beverage business participating in the research have a high level of job satisfaction and problem-solving skills. As a result of the research; It has been determined that there is a strong positive relationship between the level of job satisfaction and the level of problem-solving skills, and the problem-solving skills of the employees whose job satisfaction level increases, also increase. This result shows that taking the measures to increase the job satisfaction of the employees of the organizations will make an important contribution to the solution of the problems in the organization.
