Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the effectiveness and content of the panic disorder model of CBT based on previous studies and to create a general framework on this subject. Considering the literature, although there have been many studies on CBT and panic disorder, it was seen that the cognitive behavioral model of panic disorder was not presented in a general framework and this study was required to be carried out. The study, which was created as a review article by making a literature review, was created by looking at only panic disorder framework instead of other psychiatric disorders. Before the study was conducted, it was thought that cognitive behavioral therapy was one of the most effective methods in the treatment of panic disorder, and at the end of the study, an expected finding was obtained. Cognitive restructuring, relaxation exercises, and CBT combined with exposure were found to yield better results than the treatments applied solely to medication, relaxation exercises and psychoeducation.
