Main Article Content
Abstract
The purpose of this research is to determine the profiles of amateur choristers, their achievements in the active aging process, their status of receiving local government support, the reasons for needing local government support and the views of local governments on their support in this regard. The sample group of the research consists of two amateur choirs working in Ankara. In the study, which was carried out with the case study design, which is one of the qualitative research designs, e-interviews were applied with two selected amateur choirs. Some of the answers obtained were subjected to frequency analysis, and the answers to the open-ended questions were analyzed with Word Stadt 8 and Qda Miner programs. As a result of the analysis; It was determined that the majority of the participants were people in the retire period and they found the current local government support insufficient. It has been concluded that the most important gains obtained with choir studies are cultural transfer, socialization and ease of promotion of core music, and the main reasons for local government support are the problems experienced in reaching the masses, organizing charity concerts, working place and presenting products.
