An Investigation on the Vocabulary of Turkish Manners Compiled from Yozgat

Abstract

In this study, it was aimed to determine the vocabulary of manners compiled from a person who live in Yozgat province’s Sorgun town. 109 texts in total were colleted in the study. The person telling manners was met and these texts were written. Word frequency of the texts having 895 words in total was determined through frequency program. According to the results, most of the words were noble words and official words. Verbs and gerunds followed these. The geatest diversity was observed in noble and official words. Verbs and gerunds followed this. “Ben (I)” pronoun was frequently used in the noble and official words. The most
frequently used verb was “ol- (to be)”. The most frequently used gerund was “sevdiğim (the person who I love)”.
